This is a nice vacuum sealer. I have one I've had for years from one of the top brands that does a great job and offers lots of bells and whistles but it's a much larger, heavier machine so keeping it on the counter isn't an option and it's a real pain to take it out every time I want to use it. I've been looking for a better option and I like that this is compact and lightweight, leaving it on the counter is an option or if I do put it away again easier to store and to move in and out.It's easy to use, just line up the bag, push on the corners and press the button. One thing I don't like is it doesn't have a removable bin or drawer to catch any liquids so it keeps it away from the machine and can be easily cleaned out. I understand it isn't made for sealing liquids, which is fine, I wasn't looking for that, but a lot of items do contain moisture and you will see some liquid being driven up and out the top along with the air during the vacuuming process, think meats, chicken, left overs to be frozen, etc.. Because of the lack of clean out, any residual liquid just ends up in the channel where you line it up. It's not a big deal, just not a preferable option.Another big plus with this over my previous model is how quiet it is. It really has plenty of power and gets it just as air tight as my last one but that one was so loud it was ridiculous, but this one is really quiet, even my husband was amazed. The compact size is nice but you do loose having built in storage for the cut to size rolls. Again a tradeoff I'll gladly take for the advantage of its size. I like that it came with some bags so if this is your first machine you have something to start with. The pulse function is a nice option I didn't have on my last unit that kept me from trying to seal softer items because I knew it would just vacuum them flat. With the compact size and nice features I see me getting a lot more use out of this unit than I did my previous one.
