MasonryDefender Low Gloss Patio Paver Sealer is a durable, water-based, clear sealer designed to protect and beautify both clay brick and cement patio type paver stones, giving them a low gloss, angular sheen. It’s formulated with a high performance acrylic resin that provides protection from both water and the ultra-violet light of the sun. Use on most types of horizontal, above grade concrete and masonry applications including: clay brick, clay paver stones, cement paver stones and natural stone. It gives pavers a low gloss sheen, with a slight wet-look. Water Based MasonryDefender Paver Sealer is a VOC compliant water-based sealer that’s easier on the environment than solvent based sealers. Low Gloss Sheen Protect your pavers without changing the look. This product gives a very subtle, low gloss, angular sheen. Repels Water Get water repellent protection to prevent freeze-thaw damage such as cracking or pitting and flaking. Easy to Apply Simply spray on with a pump-up garden sprayer. An airless sprayer can also be used. Hardens Joint Sand Formulated with an acrylic resin that coats and hardens joint sand, helping keep it in place, instead of washing away after a hard rain. Prevents Color Loss Patio Paver Sealer seals and protects patio pavers from color loss caused by harmful UV rays. 2.5 Gallon Easy-Pour Containers Now available in 2.5 gallon jugs that are easier to carry, pour, and open than bulky, 5 gallon cans. If you have a project larger than 150 sq. ft., then use one of these containers and give your back a rest! 3 EASY STEPS TO REVIVE YOUR PAVER PATIO Step 1: Clean If the surface is dirty, use MasonryDefender All Purpose Masonry & Concrete Cleaner, then rinse with a pressure washer. Allow the pavers to dry out for a few days. Step 2: Replace Joint Sand If any of the joint sand has washed away, replace it with new sand. Use a push broom to level everything off. Step 3: Seal the Pavers Using a pump-up sprayer, apply the Paver Sealer to the pavers. Allow it to dry, then apply a second coat. If any puddles form, use a broom to spread it out until it absorbs. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ------------------------- Will this give my pavers a wet look? This product is not designed for a wet look, but will give pavers a slight low-gloss or satin angular sheen. For a gloss sheen/wet look, use MasonryDefender Gloss Paver Sealer. ------------------------- Is this a clear product? During application, it looks milky white. As it dries, it becomes totally clear. ------------------------- Does this make my pavers slippery? Extremely smooth or dense surfaces could become slick when wet. Typical clay or concrete pavers won’t normally become more slippery than they would otherwise. If you’re concerned about traction, add a 4 oz. container of MasonryDefender Non-Slip Additive to each gallon of sealer. ------------------------- Does it have a strong odor? No, this product is very low odor. ------------------------- How many coats should I apply? Apply 2 coats of Patio Paver Sealer. Allow the first coat to dry before applying the second. Don’t allow the product to form puddles. If this happens, use a push broom to spread the product around until it absorbs. ------------------------- How long does it take to dry? Dry time can vary, but will normally take 1-2 hours in warm weather, and low humidity. High humidity or cooler weather can lengthen dry times. ------------------------- Can this be used on a paver driveway? Yes, this product works well on all paver surfaces including driveways. Just be sure to allow 7 days of cure time before driving on it. ------------------------- Does it resist oil stains? Once treated, most oil stains will easily wipe off as long as they are cleaned up quickly. If stains are allowed to sit on the surface of the pavers and penetrate in, they can become difficult to remove. This product, like all acrylic sealers, will not hold up to brake fluid. ------------------------- How much product do I need? Coverage rates will vary based on how porous the surface is. For cement pavers, figure 75-150 sq. ft. per gallon. For clay pavers, figure 150-200 sq. ft. per gallon. This coverage rate is for 2 coats. This is such a great product! We got our front walkway redone this summer and our contractor was going to charge us $1000 to seal it. He told us to go get a sealant. After much research we bought this one, and it was so easy to use! I did watch YouTube videos online before starting the project. This product gave our patio the perfect amount of “shine” without ever being slippery or to shiny.I also want to point out we got our back patio done 6 months earlier and did not seal it, and as you see from the second picture looks rough. We will be pressure washing and sealing it in the Spring with this sealant. If you are thinking of sealing your project, do it and buy this sealer!
