I bought this a couple of years ago . I had concerns initially about the inner lid and build up of liquids between the two components. I found that I could open and separate the components of the inner lid then Clean it out then dry it . To put the two sections back together I lined up the valve with the indentation on the other piece then put it on the counter pressed down and pop and went right back in. Works great to my food hot and it is easy to transport without leaking.One could argue that you shouldn’t have to take the two components apart but since I bought it and didn’t want to throw it away and it keeps food well , what the hey.
