Our first generation Trex decking was considerably faded and showing significant spotting. Since first generation Trex decking contains wood fibers we decided to attempt to stain it with an oil based stain as opposed to the major cost of replacing the deck boards. For less than $200 we were able to give the deck an amazing facelift. The stain applies easily and soaks into the boards very well. You will need to do two coats. I recommend waiting one or two days in between coats and the oil based stain takes much longer to absorb and dry then water-based stains.carefully follow the instructions and you will get perfect resultsI used this on my deck after having used Arborcoat, a latex product. I sanded the entire deck after washing. Then I applied Ready Seal, and I was shocked at the ease of application and the gorgeous color. I used a small roller and a brush for details. Couldn't be easier. This came package very securely. I had used the larger ones prior, but needed to do some touch up. I used dark walnut and then the mahogany pver that. Beautiful!I sprayed on a ceader picket fence and it covered nicely, no drips or runs. Looked good when finished but seemed to fade after a few months.Picnic tableI LOVE THAT YOU CAN APPLY IT IN THE HEAT OR THE COLD.It is difficult to mess it. Follow the directions on the can and the wood absorbs it. You must start with a clean floor.
