These replacement bags were exactly what I needed for my kenmore canister vac! Way better than any knockoff or cheap alternative.These bags are really great. Best I've ever used. They catch the dirt mightily and efficiently.This was an exact replacement for the Kenmore model we have at a much better price.I have spent A LOT of time trying to find out if these Kenmore vacuum bags contain fiberglass or if they are safe for making face masks. I had a big run around trying to find out this information but, after several hours on the phone and online I have determined that YES, they are safe and I am currently using them for filters in face masks. I have confirmed that Cleva INC is the manufacturer of these masks. Here is how to reach them, Cleva North America, INC, 1-866-384-8432. I was told that according to the Safety Data Sheet for these bags, they are made out of polyethylene which is a type of plastic. According to Cleva, there is absolutely no fiber glass in these bags! According to sites online polyethylene is widely used in the USA and is safe. Cleva and Kenmore will say that they do not recommend for these bags to be used for anything other than for vacuuming; this is due to liability issues. It also says on the bag that Federal law prohibits the use of this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. However, as it stands many of us are desperate for safe and economical ways to make effective masks to protect ourselves and our families. I previously purchased a different brand of HEPA vacuum bags; the manufacturer stated on their website that they were safe for making face masks ( they were made out of polyethylene). While I loved the product, the price of those other bags were 3 bags for $50. I make masks for friends and family and others in need and I give them away free of charge. I simply can't afford to give them away when the filters cost that much! These Kenmore bags are much cheaper and made out of the same material. I just wanted to share what I found out because it was not exactly easy to get this information. I hope that this information helps others.
