The directions are lacking some details. After charging it, I tried to use it with mixed results. After struggling for a few minutes, I took it apart and tried again. That's when I noticed the clear chamber that you attach to the device has a notch. You have to align the notch with the exhaust hole on the device. Then it worked great.I am still not entire sure what the red adapters are for. I did discover, though, they can make it easier to break the vacuum when you are finished and need to remove the device. Maybe that's the point of them? I'm still not entirely sure.The best feature is the portability. The price of this is roughly the same as other systems for sealing mason jars, but this is more flexible and can seal other things, too. Because it is wireless, you can seal mason jars almost anywhere. It is convenient to seal mason jars and zipper bags on the go, which I do when I'm camping sometimes.It took about an hour to charge the device after opening the box. I ran it for about 15 minutes and less than 10% of the battery was down, so I'm going to guess it could run for a few hours on a single charge. I didn't want to run it constantly for fear of overheating.
