We have a vacuum sealer and in the past, we would attempt to seal bags (such as frozen food bags) using this. We would have to clear a lot of counter space in front of the vacuum sealer and then fiddle with it and we might get the bag to seal after a half dozen tries. It worked great with the specially made vacuum seal bags but it just wasn't designed to seal other bags.So I decided to get one of these mini-sealers. So much easier. First of all, it didn't really register when I ordered it, that it had a magnet on it. Perfect, our vacuum sealer is metal - so this now stays clipped to the vacuum sealer. I charged it up and tried it out and failed. This is why you read the directions. I was doing it wrong, I was going too fast. Tried again - worked perfectly. After that, it has been a cinch to seal bags.Our primary use is frozen vegetable bags. The seal nicely. Back in the freezer and it helps prevent freezer burn. We've also used it on chip bags. Quick, easy and does the job.
