Although this comes with a manual vacuum pump, you can use the new style food saver for the vacuum. Also the larger container included allows you to place a canning jar inside and vacuum it by loosely closing the mason jar, run the vacuum on the container, and by magic, your mason jar is vacuum sealed once you release the vacuum on the container.You may have seen some YouTube videos using PVC pipe to do this. This alleviates you needing a machine shop, and using something ready made to do the same thing.Great item, and well worth the money.
