The stock OEM trigger switch in the Dyson vacuums is a flawed design that is very likely to break (ours did, and so have many others). This kit provides two reinforced triggers along with a T8 screwdriver which is necessary to get the vac main body apart in order to install the new trigger. This gives you two triggers so if it the reinforced one breaks again due to Dyson's design, you already have a replacement on hand.Only 2 stars for "easy to install" because it's NOT easy to install. But that's Dyson's fault for their vacuum main body design, not the fault of this product. If you're handy you can get it done, but it's a hassle.
