I hardwired this into my vehicle. When I turn the key on in loud mode, it beeps and checks vacuum pressure for 1 second. And quiet mode it beeps and checks the release valve.Pretty decent quality, large pump motor large vacuum valve.No tiny toy circuit boards and surface mount switches and pumps.
