We wanted a simple cordless vacuum for quick spot cleaning of pet hair from our hardwood floors... all you dog and cat owners know what I'm talking about. i.e. The dust-bunnies and clumps of fur & hair that gather around the edges of a room and next to furniture, almost daily.Well this sensibly designed unit does the task admirably. It has dual stage filters which are removable and reusable, and both filters can be washed and rinsed. The manufacturer also included an extra filter in the box.The power-brush is functional and rides on two wheels at the rear. It is 'steerable' by rotating the powerhead/tube left or right, and it also comes with a tool to clean the canister, filters, and to cut away hair string, etc from the power-brush.The attachments, tube, and power-brush are all interchangeable, which is a great feature and indicates good sensible design. You can connect the power-brush directly to the powerhead for tight spots or furniture, or you can use the variable length extension tube to use it as an upright for vacuuming floors.Likewise for the two attachments, these can be used with the extension tube or attached directly to the powerhead unit. The extension tube has several locking positions for variable length, another nice design feature.The canister is emptied via trap-door on the bottom of the powerhead unit, this is also how the filters are removed for cleaning. There are also o-rings in appropriate locations to keep the canister properly sealed.A useful storage bracket has been inlcuded and can be mounted on a wall. This serves as a storage for the two attachments and powerhead. The fully assembled vac (powerhead, tube, power-brush) can be hooked to the bracket to keep it in place, but I would suggest only placing the bracket at precisely the height which 'hooks' the entire vac system in place with the wheels/powerhead still resting on the floor... I would not expect the bracket to support the weight of the entire system suspended off the ground.The powerhead unit has indicators for charging level, charge remaining, and high/low speed options. Battery is removable.On low speed, the motor is reasonably quiet and the suction is good enough to grab clumps of dog hair, crumbs, etc. On high speed, the power-brush is more effective on low-pile carpet or smooth rugs, but the motor emits a 'whine' which might bother some people after a while. I found it to be tolerable for the short period of time I might use it on 'high'... low speed will be perfectly adequate for my purposes.And that brings up my final comment: for most people, this is not going to replace the utility of a standard vacuum cleaner (upright or canister). It doesn't have the power or suction of a corded vacuum cleaner or shop vac. However, it does have one big advantage, convenience.The TasVac cordless vacuum is ideal for quickly vacuuming up dust-bunnies, pet hair, crumbs, and other routine tasks which are too much of a hassle to do with a corded vac.
